Job description

Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking for a new opportunity?

Advanced Resourcing is a forward thinking recruitment agency matching talent with opportunity across the Midlands and Shropshire.

Our client is a distinguished UK-based engineering and fabrication specialist, founded in 1932. The company also excels in designing, supplying, installing, and commissioning bespoke heat treatment kilns, furnaces, mechanical handling systems, refractory linings, and control assemblies across diverse industrial sectors including energy, nuclear, defence, aerospace, and environmental processing. Bricesco is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN 1090‑1:2009+A1:2011 (up to Execution Class 3).

Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering projects from initial design and client collaboration through to fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Interface with internal fabrication, welding, design, and site teams as well as external clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015, BS EN 1090, and relevant European and welding standards.
  • Draft and manage quality documentation, implement welding procedure specifications, control inspection/test plans, and maintain traceability records.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk assessments. Maintain rigorous control over scope, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide expert input during design and fabrication, address technical challenges, and propose cost-effective, technically sound solutions.
  • Proactively suggest and implement enhancements to processes, standards, and customer service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, metallurgical or equivalent discipline).
  • Proven background in heavy engineering, ideally in one off/batch production environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with welding standards and procedures (ARC, MIG, TIG) and European structural/encrypted norms.
  • Experience with quality management systems, ISO 9001, and technical documentation (e.g., WPS, inspection plans).
  • Solid track record in project management, delivering uniquely tailored (one-off) engineering solutions—not repetitive line items.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with technical teams and clients.
  • Strong structured problem-solving and organisational capability.
