Overview

Aermech are looking for a Project Engineer with a keen interest in project delivery and mechanical engineering to join our team. You will be working within a team environment to provide mechanical quality support over multiple package pumping station projects within the HS2 line. This position would be ideally suited to a genuine team player with ambition and the confidence to take on challenges, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.

Job Type

Contract basis or permanent position for the right candidate.

Location

Hybrid working, willingness and ability to commute to the Midlands area.

Requirements (Experience with the below is preferred, but not essential)
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects (HS2 experience a plus)
  • Experience with ductile iron pipework and pumping stations
  • A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • A strong mechanical interest and background will be an advantage
  • Proven working experience as a project engineer or quality engineer, project manager, or similar
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, hold points, and inspection processes
  • Must be able to work well in a team and have the right 'can-do' attitude
  • Willingness and ability to commute to the Midlands area
  • A valid UK driving licence
Key Duties / Responsibilities
  • Support site and project management teams in the planning and execution of mechanical installations
  • Ensure works comply with HS2 specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Project liaison amongst clients and internal team members regarding documentation, specific requirements, and carrying out site surveys as required.
  • Support in compiling and assisting with creating QA documentation, ITPs and ensuring progressive assurance sign-off.
  • Support with project quality, ensuring compliance with internal and client quality systems
  • Liaise with client engineers, designers, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries.
