Job Overview

  • Undertake building operation and maintenance projects from conception to completion, as assigned by the Manager.
  • Make effective recommendations to the Manager on whether to perform work using Company staff or by tendering to contractors.
  • Review building systems working drawings to ensure specifications are met and compatibility with existing structures and systems. Review documents for technical accuracy and make necessary changes.
  • Obtain appropriate approvals at various development stages and final approval before tendering contracts.
  • Coordinate with internal and external groups such as trades staff, planning staff, consulting engineers and architects, contractors, fire inspectors, and municipal permit authorities to provide building systems.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer applications, mathematics, contracts and specifications, building codes, electrical equipment, and automatic controls related to building mechanical services.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for interaction and report preparation.
  • Typically acquired through the successful completion of Grade XII plus 3 years of concentrated study or equivalent education.
