Job description

Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading engineering organisation specialising in the lifting, transportation, installation, and decommissioning of large-scale structures and heavy industrial equipment.

Key Duties:

As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing both conventional and innovative engineering solutions for complex heavy lifting and transportation projects. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll be responsible for preparing and developing engineering method statements, technical drawings, calculations, lifting plans, visualisations, manuals, risk assessments, and other supporting documentation to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

The Project Engineer will regularly travel to customer sites across the UK, providing hands-on engineering support throughout the delivery of complex heavy lifting and transportation projects. This offers the opportunity to see projects through from planning to execution, working closely with site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and successful delivery. All travel, accommodation, and transport are fully arranged and covered by the company, allowing you to focus entirely on supporting project execution while gaining invaluable on-site experience across a diverse range of engineering environments.

Key Requirements:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Around 1-2 years' post-graduate engineering experience, although strong graduates with relevant industrial placements or internships will also be considered.
  • Experience gained within engineering, construction, infrastructure, heavy industry, manufacturing, or another project-based environment.
  • The ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other engineering documentation.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations, method statements, technical reports, and supporting project documentation.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK to support customers and project delivery.
The Package:
  • £36,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience and competence.
  • Annual Bonus Scheme - Earn up to 15% of your annual salary as a performance-related bonus, based on both personal and company objectives.
  • 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-4:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break with flexibility.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to carry over up to five days each year and buy or sell up to five additional days.
  • All travel, hire vehicles, and hotel accommodation are arranged and paid for by the company. Hotel stays are based on a minimum Premier Inn standard, with your own private room provided as standard.
  • Premium PPE and safety footwear are supplied, ensuring you have everything required to work safely on site.
  • Access to the company's dedicated engineering academy, with structured development, mentoring, and fully funded nationally recognised qualifications and certifications as your career progresses.
  • Join a global engineering organisation committed to investing in its people, offering genuine long-term opportunities to develop into senior engineering and project management roles
