At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Project Engineer at our Hinkley Point C site and be part of a major national project.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and support services, enabling contractors to work as a single entity to install complex cabling and pipework systems across the power station.

The role

As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in a significant project with national importance. Your role involves facilitating communication, tracking progress, and helping achieve project goals in a cross-functional site environment.

Your responsibilities include supporting planning, execution, and monitoring of site-wide projects, assisting leads, managing documentation, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and timelines.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with goals and deadlines.
  • Monitor progress and report issues or delays.
  • Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutes.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Prepare status reports and update stakeholders.
  • Serve as a point of contact for team members and external partners.

Note: The successful candidate must pass a medical questionnaire/examination.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based onsite at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.

Essential experience

  • Experience with maintaining project documentation, plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with complex projects or joint ventures is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with reporting tools and MS Office, including Excel.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or relevant experience (highly advantageous).
  • CCNSG/MAPS certification required upon starting.
