We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our expanding coastal distillery based in Girvan, South Ayrshire.

With the world-famous Turnberry golf course nearby and Glasgow approximately 50 miles north, surrounded by beaches, lush green hills, historic castles, and a beautiful coastal drive to the distillery, this is an ideal location to live and work.

As a Project Engineer, you will develop and deliver Capital & Special Revenue projects to increase site capabilities and improve process efficiencies within the William Grant & Sons Operations Business Unit.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the scoping, design, and delivery of capital projects at the Girvan site.
  • Work with a multi-disciplined project team during project delivery, utilizing your EC&I background to complement the team's capabilities.
  • Implement capital projects to address plant issues, equipment obsolescence, capacity/productivity increases, health & safety, and environmental initiatives.
  • Identify and quantify development plans for input into site Master Plans, along with relevant budgets and justifications.
  • Provide detailed data to support project prioritization exercises and manage projects through to completion, including:
    • Detailing project concepts and approaches, ensuring comprehensive and realistic requirements.
    • Conducting financial analyses, providing justifications, and leading full CAPEX submissions with clear investment cases.
    • Identifying potential suppliers, developing sourcing strategies, tendering for cost-effective options, and fine-tuning solutions to maximize value with contractual protections.
    • Delivering projects to the satisfaction of stakeholders, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, cost, and timelines.

Delivery includes coordinating installation activities with contractors/suppliers, creating and executing commissioning documentation, rolling out training and handover materials, and maintaining financial controls and reporting throughout.

Requirements include a degree qualification or equivalent project management experience, with expertise in electrical, controls & instrumentation engineering.

Additional skills required are experience with project management methodologies, continuous improvement techniques, analysis, and knowledge of health & safety/environmental compliance. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.

Trust and respect are vital in this team environment.
