Thames Water is seeking a Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of engineering projects across the Thames Valley. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, experience in project management, and a commitment to health and safety. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure project delivery and operational efficiency, in a rewarding role that offers competitive compensation and numerous benefits.

Qualifications

Job description

  • Managing and delivering a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical and ICA projects, with a typical value of £40,000 to £400,000 per project.
  • Responsibility for up to 15 live projects at any one time, with further projects in the scoping and tendering phase.
  • Developing innovative and modern solutions to operational problems, making our sites more efficient and delivering value for money for our customers.
  • Working with our operations teams and contractors to scope, define and cost solutions that are both cost-effective and have minimal risk. This includes the Controller of Premises for the site you are working at.
  • Delivering our zero-compromise health and safety attitude to all contractors working on your project.

Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

Location - Working at a location based within the Thames Valley area. This includes Swindon, Didcot, Oxford, Newbury, Reading & Slough.

What you should bring to the role

  • Have a background in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • Formal qualifications within these sectors are strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. This includes internal colleagues, site employees and external contractors.
  • Additionally, you will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, be self-motivated and driven, and use your initiative to deliver high-quality work.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety standards with particular reference to construction works, including CDM.
  • Experience in Project Management is desirable.
  • Industry experience would be highly advantageous but not essential.
