Job description

Job Title: Project Engineer

Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for career progression.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are met.
2. Source suppliers based on the bill of materials and engineering specifications; liaise with design engineers regarding alternatives or variations.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budget and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors, ensuring correct revisions for fabrication or assembly.
5. Visit subcontractors' premises regularly to coordinate and review production.
6. Work with the design team to meet specifications and conduct quality checks prior to handover.
7. Ensure FAT tests and quality checks are performed, documented, and snags cleared before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities including site surveys, haulage, health & safety documentation, lifting equipment, labor resources, commissioning, testing, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor projects following the document control process.
10. Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to interpret needs and present solutions.
11. Manage contracts, including producing/responding to compensation events and early warning notices.

Requirements:

• Engineering qualification with relevant experience in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.
