Who are we?

Anglian Water is committed to providing the best water recycling services across the region by maintaining our existing assets and undertaking new projects to safeguard our future water supplies.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Bioresources delivery teams, to ensure our capital maintenance projects are delivered successfully from inception to completion, meeting all required standards, regulations, commercial affordability targets, and time frames.

What will you be doing as our Project Engineer?

The Project Engineer will deliver planned and reactive project needs for Bioresources, driving the development of solutions focused on whole life cost and business risk reduction, while ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned and reactive project needs for Bioresources.
  • Assess solutions, perform root cause analysis considering whole life cost and business risk reduction using the Risk, Opportunity, and Value process.
  • Develop solutions in line with corporate governance, technical/safety standards, and legal requirements.
  • Ensure all enabling activities, including design, programme, cost, and CDM requirements, are completed for construction handover.
  • Complete and comply with all operational site Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements to ensure safe working practices.
  • Support the capture of assets and costs in relevant corporate systems.
  • Hold an appropriate engineering qualification or membership of a professional body, or have equivalent experience.
  • Have proven technical experience within the relevant environment.
  • Possess knowledge of Health & Safety (H&S), and Construction Design & Management (CDM) regulations.
  • Have a good understanding of process safety and DSEAR regulations.
  • Experience managing a capital budget.
  • Experience in project planning, delivery, and site supervision.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine suitable solutions.
  • Be proficient in IT literacy, particularly O365, and familiar with Anglian Water IT systems such as M2i, SAP, and Power BI.
  • Experience in capital delivery within the water sector, especially with directly employed staff.
  • Excellent customer management skills and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong communication skills to interpret, problem-solve, and share data effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Gas, CHP, Steam, and Operations teams.
  • Commercial awareness when working with multiple stakeholders.
