Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is recruiting a Project Engineer (Delivery) in Llandudno, Wales. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable and sustainable electricity networks with hybrid working options and a competitive benefits package.

The successful candidate will lead delivery across Operations & Maintenance, Investment Projects or Customer Projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, robust project plans and excellent service to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a project delivery role.
• Relevant network construction and operational experience.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver district business plan outputs in line with financial, regulatory, licence and customer service objectives.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, communities, contractors and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Develop and deliver robust project plans that support district and licence objectives while minimising customer interruptions and disruption to the network.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of performance targets such as Customer Minutes Lost and Customer Interruptions.
• Manage project risks, issues and dependencies with appropriate mitigation actions.
• Undertake project and contract management to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality.

Role

Join us in delivering a safe, reliable, and sustainable electricity network. In this role, you will lead the delivery of Operations & Maintenance, Investment Projects, or Customer Projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and licence requirements, while providing excellent service to our customers and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

Deliver district business plan outputs in line with financial, regulatory, licence and customer service objectives, maximising value through performance and incentive mechanisms.

Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, communities, contractors and stakeholders to support successful project delivery and positive customer outcomes.

Develop and deliver robust project plans that support district and licence objectives while minimising customer interruptions and disruption to the network.

Ensure efficient and effective delivery of performance targets as appropriate, such as:

• Customer Minutes Lost, Customer Interruptions
• Broad Measure of Customer Satisfaction
• Guaranteed Standards
• Other Incentive mechanisms

Manage project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are implemented to support successful delivery.

Undertake project and contract management activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

To drive continual performance improvement through analysis of outputs and feedback from internal and external sources.

Integrate asset stewardship and ownership values through sound engineering principles and coordinated planning and delivery activities to improve integrity, safety and longevity of the electrical network.

Promote an exemplary safety culture and ensure that all safety legislation, policies, and procedures are implemented and adhered to across all activities.

Depending on business requirements, you may support the delivery of:

• Maintenance and reliability programmes
• Customer connections activities
• Capital investment projects
• Network security and system performance initiatives

Ensure the accurate and timely recording of operational, project, asset and customer information within corporate systems to support business, regulatory and customer service requirements.

What you'll bring

Project/programme management experience, with a strong performance ethos and a track record of driving and delivering projects and initiatives.

Knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.

General contract, commercial and regulatory awareness with the ability to balance effective and efficient customer service and project delivery, ensuring maximum return on investment.

Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.

Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels.

Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal solutions.

Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and the external commercial context in which SPEN is operating.

Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.

Where required, expert knowledge of:

• Construction and maintenance standards
• Engineering standards and specifications up to 33kV

Minimum Criteria

• Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience in a project delivery role
• Relevant network construction and operational experience
• Computer literacy
