Contracts ManagerKey Responsibilities- Manage and deliver a large project of pre fabrication and plantroom skids from conception through to onsite delivery, installation and commissioning.
- Review engineering and technical drawings, be responsible for the approval process and release into fabrication and assembly.
- Laise with external suppliers to bring initial design concepts into production ready drawings, taking responsibility for approving technical drawings which will go into manufacturing.
- Take the lead in continuous improvement initiatives, ability to create and execute action plans, and deliver solutions which add value across manufacturing and assembly.
- Provide engineering and technical support to the fabrication and assembly lines.
- Ensure clear, two-way communication with management so that all activities and issues are directed appropriately.
- Proactively communicate/co-ordinate with site functions (BIM, Design, Fabrication, Assembly, Quality, Project Control) to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported. This will also include regular pre-start meetings, design coordination, and delivery of key messages across the delivery teams.
- To manage and develop your site management team to ensure the delivery of a project in a timely manner.
- Liaise regularly with the client via online meetings and regular on-site discussions to ensure they are satisfied with current progress and the forecast of up-and-coming works.
- Ensure your managers & site teams are working as efficiently as possible and all high-level objects have been set out for your management team to be accomplish in target dates.
- Ensure all drawings that the site teams are working to are the correct revision.
- Liaise with the project co-ordinator to ensure all high-level templates are populated and Setout for the Construction team to follow. (i.e., Material trackers/programmes/lessons learnt)
- Ensure all plant and equipment are procured correctly, in line with the specification and client requirements.
- Throughout the project track costs (material & labour) to ensure the project will be delivered as per original target spends.
- Assess requirement for labour and sub-contractors to undertake various elements of installation work and the development/expansion of your team
- Vet all sub-contractors to ensure they fulfil company requirements and are engaged appropriately via fixed price order or JCT contract. This will be assisted by the commercial team.
- Prepare a weekly project meeting with the wider internal Alt Heat team to ensure critical path elements are being actioned and addressed by the relevant departments.
- Provide accurate information on contract variation and monthly claims back through to the commercial team for their monthly valuations.
- Attend monthly meetings with the Contracts Manager to discuss team performance and areas to develop the team as well as looking at job performance.
- Attend Monthly Meetings with the wider Project Management team to review company performance and any changes to company procedures, some of which you will filter through you team.
- Ensure and assist with the preparation of O&M manuals upon completion of the project. Ensure the team has marked up all As-built drawings and compiled all associated certs.
- Ability to work in conjunction with the client to ensure Alt Heat and their site teams work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
- Ensure the tracking of project performance is tracked on a weekly basis via progress reporting back to the Client.
Travel Requirements- This role is aimed to be predominantly client site based. There will be a requirement to attend frequent site meetings for example, to meet representatives of the client's team and ensure they are happy with current progress, looking at new up and coming projects and meeting with your onsite team to assess site progress. You will be based out of our Inverness Office & will be required to attend our Glasgow office once per month.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Good Microsoft Office skills - to include Excel, Word, Projects, and Outlook
- Relevant experience with Mechanical Installation and Management within the field.
- Ability to take ownership of their duties and a willingness to grow and learn within their team and the company.
- Demonstrate a good ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications/experience- 5 Years + industry experience within the building services sector
- Preferably hold a mechanical bias knowledge
- Hold a valid of SSSTS or SMSTS.
