Job Title: Project Engineer Environmental Monitoring Systems

Salary: $67,000-70,000

Job Description

Join our team as a Project Engineer and contribute to environmentally friendly initiatives by working on air emissions monitoring systems. You will perform engineering, design, and configuration activities for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), focusing on measuring and reporting hazardous air pollutants regulated by various government agencies. The role involves working with measurement principles such as chemiluminescence, paramagnetic cells, tunable diode lasers, and understanding Data Acquisition and Handling Systems (DAHS) using PLCs or data loggers with Windows systems.

Note: This position is open to qualified remote candidates.

Responsibilities

1. Design electrical and instrumentation packages.
2. Utilize mathematical formulas for pollutant data analysis and manage data storage in SQL databases.
3. Prepare and submit design documents, I/O lists, and CAD drawings.
4. Interface with suppliers and evaluate new technologies.
5. Participate in field commissioning activities.
6. Manage project schedules, budgets, customer communications, and contracts.
7. Support Factory Acceptance Tests and assist field technicians via various communication methods.
8. Configure and program controls, including sequencing, data handling, and logic.
9. Program PLC and HMI systems.

Qualifications

1. 1-3 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation engineering design.
2. Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
3. Proficiency with Windows OS and networking.
4. Experience with system design using CAD, Bills of Materials, and customer drawings.
5. Willingness to travel up to 30% for field work.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
7. Experience managing engineering projects and customer interactions.
8. Previous experience programming PLC, SCADA, DCS, or HMI systems.
9. Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment signals and logic.
10. Ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
