Senior Project Engineer - Signalling (CEM)
Location: Glasgow, Scotland (SP&C Framework)
Business Unit: Signalling & Telecoms (S&T),
Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Team
Our Signalling & Telecoms (S&T) division delivers cost-effective engineering solutions for railway signalling projects across the UK. We manage the entire project lifecycle, offering full services in design, project engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance across all signalling systems and technologies.
We also provide design, supply, installation, and testing services for operational and lineside telecommunications, including station information and security systems, either as a single discipline or part of a multi-disciplinary project.
We're currently working on several high-profile frameworks, including:
-S&T Framework - North West & Central (NW&C)
-Signalling, Power & Communications (SP&C) Framework - Scotland
-TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRUe)
-Train Control System Framework (TCSF) for ETCS delivery

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer - Signalling to join our team in Glasgow, working on the SP&C Framework. This role includes acting as Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) and/or Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) where required.
You will provide technical leadership and guidance across a range of signalling projects, ensuring engineering excellence from concept through to completion. You will also be responsible for managing resources and leading teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
-Act as CEM and/or CRE on designated projects.
-Lead and coordinate engineering activities from design through implementation and completion.
-Ensure technical compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
-Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, quality assurance, and engineering governance.
-Provide guidance and mentoring to engineering staff.
-Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to support project success.

About You
-Strong experience in signalling engineering within the UK rail industry.
-Capable of performing the roles of CEM and CRE in accordance with Network Rail standards.
-Excellent leadership and communication skills.
-Thorough understanding of railway systems, interfaces, and operational practices.
-Organised, proactive, and solution-focused.
Qualifications
-HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential).
-Incorporated Engineer status (or actively working toward it) is desirable.
