Job description

Project Engineer
Certain Advantage is seeking a Project Engineer to join a dynamic team in Kent within a high-performance, safety-driven organisation in the energy sector.

The Company
We’re proud to be working with a top-tier operator known for its commitment to sustainability, operational performance, and innovation in the renewable energy space.

The Role
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering complex equipment and process upgrades from concept to commissioning. You’ll also play a central role in shaping maintenance strategies, managing statutory inspections, planning outages, and leading contractor engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage project delivery: scope development, stakeholder engagement, capital applications, tendering, installation, commissioning, and close-out
  • Ensure seamless documentation integration into Maintenance and Document Control systems
  • Oversee statutory inspections for lifting equipment, pressure systems, boilers, and auxiliary systems
  • Take ownership of key areas during planned outages, ensuring safe and efficient execution
  • Work closely with Procurement to secure long-term supplier agreements and refine scopes of work
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, statutory requirements, and site safety rules


The Individual
We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven Project Management skills (including use of Microsoft Project)
  • Experience with predictive/preventative maintenance and RCA/NDT techniques
  • Knowledge of steam turbines, generators, and statutory pressure systems
  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and Maintenance Management Systems
  • Solid grasp of legislative and SHEQ requirements (IOSH/NEBOSH)
