Overview

Are you looking to make a tangible impact on project outcomes? As an experienced Project Engineer, you will track and analyze cost data, ensuring our projects stay on budget. Your expertise in resource monitoring and control, combined with your construction knowledge, will keep our projects running smoothly and efficiently.

The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP), consisting of Flatiron, Dragados USA, and VINCI, has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build project—the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The project scope across a 9-mile section of I-64 includes a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing accommodating 8 lanes, replacing existing marine approach bridges, and adding a third lane in each direction. The twin 45' diameter, 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second-largest TBM tunnel opening in North America.

  • Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate weekly and monthly production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan. Notify engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate delays and costs.
  • Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure financials are accurately reported.
  • Manage invoicing with the accounting team regarding materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
