Job Description
The Project Engineer will provide detailed support required by Project Manager, including creation of documentation, working with suppliers, liaising with design team, client, and internal/external resources to ensure successful project execution.Attending meetings with client/suppliers and external certification bodies.
- Assisting PM
- Develop standard and project-specific specifications required to control production, e.g. material specifications, NDE procedures, quality plans, component data sheets, assembly specifications, test specifications.
- Liaising with design team.
- Compliance with customer spec (QA and technical)
- Define scopes of work for subcontracted enquiry packages.
- Coordinate ITT processes in conjunction with other internal resources and provide technical support during ITT clarifications.
- Supplier identification, detailed procurement, expediting, visits.
- Carry out sourcing and sub-supplier evaluation/qualification, including technical evaluation and evaluation of quality, health & safety, and environmental aspects.
- Follow up manufacturing activities at sub-suppliers, including holding kick-off/pre-production meetings, carrying out in-process expediting and quality inspections and environmental checks, witnessing factory acceptance testing/final inspections and carrying out document reviews, working in conjunction with fabrication engineers where appropriate.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements at sub-supplier locations.
Requirements of the job
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role

- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
- Outlook, including electronic calendar
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Must be able to follow instructions and work on own initiative.
- Flexibility and adaptability to ensure tasks are prioritised appropriately.
- Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience of working with sub suppliers.
- Honesty, reliability and discretion are essential.
- Experience in Solidworks would be of benefit but is not essential.
