An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join their Derby team. This role is pivotal in managing large capital construction projects within the electricity distribution sector. An opportunity is available for a Project Engineer based in Derby within the Derby Major Projects Capital team. This team is responsible for the delivery of large capital construction projects predominantly on the 132kV and 33kV electricity distribution system. Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of protection and control systems, including the commissioning of such equipment and should also be familiar with specifications for plant. As the role will involve significant technical challenges, you will have a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 and if not already attained will be required to undertake HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Evidence of your qualification certificates will be required prior to appointment.
Candidates must be self-motivated, adaptable, demonstrate a high level of autonomy and work effectively under pressure. The role demands the highest standards of quality whilst maintaining a safe and disciplined working environment. The successful candidate must be mobile throughout the network services area and may be required to undertake standby duties in accordance with a pre-determined rota.
Appropriate training and support will be given in order for the successful candidate to realise their full potential within the role.
