Description

Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for an experienced Project Engineer.

Overall Purpose: Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the specification, design and installation of nominated projects ensuring they operate within the Production Plan and are completed within the timescale and allocated budget.

Key Duties:

  1. Controlling and reporting on nominated projects from concept to commissioning, against an agreed programme and budget, ensuring that projects satisfy the objectives set.
  2. Liaising with manufacturing functions to ensure that projects comply with the requirements of production and the company’s recognised safety standards.
  3. Playing a proactive role in the identification of process improvements and being a resource to develop quality, machine efficiency and safety levels.
  4. Assessing the suitability of potential sub-contractors in terms of quality, cost and delivery, subsequently appointing and controlling sub-contractors ensuring their work meets our factory standards, safety regulations and complies with CDM regulations where applicable.
  5. Producing engineering drawings to support project and general engineering work.
  6. Advising the Purchasing Team on spares requirements for new plant, ensuring that the minimum stock levels are held whilst achieving an acceptable M/C downtime.
  7. Engineering coordination of a wide range of nominated projects, encompassing mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, ensuring plant is suitable for available service and is installed to our required technical and safety standards.
  8. The position involves contact with all Manufacturing functions and outside bodies including the Factory Inspectorate, Town and County Planning Building Regulation personnel, Fire Authority, Gas Board and the Water Authority.
  9. Evaluation, appointment and control of sub-contractors covering a wide range of Engineering disciplines ensuring they are safe and legal at all times and that works and tasks are undertaken and completed to a high standard.

Key Requirements:

  1. HNC or degree level in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
  2. Project engineering experience with a background in design/drawing office works and capital projects.
  3. Excellent communication skills.
  4. Ability to prepare and present proposals for potential capital projects with cost justifications and to report progress on current projects.
  5. Proficient in general engineering design and fully capable of producing and understanding a wide range of engineering drawings.

The Package:

£43, – £46, per annum depending on experience. Working full time hours 35.5 hours per week; 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 09:00 – 15:00 Friday. 25 days holiday entitlement including 2 fixed days during the Christmas shutdown (3 in /26) and 8 bank holidays.
