Responsibilities
- Project Ownership & Delivery
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of assigned engineering and fabrication projects from handover to completion.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Customer Liaison & Satisfaction
- Act as the main point of contact for allocated customers, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend customer meetings, site visits, and project reviews where required.
- Ensure customer requirements are fully understood, communicated, and met or exceeded.
- Shop Floor Coordination
- Oversee all aspects of project execution on the shop floor, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Liaise with production supervisors, team leaders, and operatives to ensure smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
- Proactively identify and resolve shop floor issues that could impact delivery or quality.
- Technical & Engineering Support
- Interpret technical drawings, customer specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Provide clear technical guidance to production teams to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Coordinate with design and CAD teams to address engineering changes or issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven engineering and fabrication knowledge/experience/background
- Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise closely with customers
- Ability to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team
- Ability to handle multiple varied projects from order through to completion
- Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organized, and self-motivated
Desirable
- Excellent knowledge of all welding techniques
- CAD qualifications and experience are preferable but not essential for this role, training will be provided where necessary.
