Job description

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-driven Project Engineer with expertise in Electrical Controls and/or Design to join an expanding engineering team who have just moved into their brand facility in Colchester.

You will play a key role in the, development, and delivery of electrical control systems for a wide range of industrial automation nand Data Cnetre projects.

Whether it s specifying hardware,or software controls, you ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are technically sound, on time, and exceed client expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control schematics
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, software, and installation teams
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Controls Engineer within industrial automation, manufacturing, or similar environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Electrical Schematics
  • Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
  • Solid understanding of industrial control systems, electrical panels, and safety standards
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field
