Project Engineer - Burton-on-Trent - Permanent Positon

What's the Opportunity?
We're recruiting for a Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering team based in Burton-on-Trent. This role will see you managing projects from contract award to completion, coordinating between internal departments and external clients. It's a varied and hands-on role that includes technical, administrative, and logistical responsibilities across the full project lifecycle.
Salary: Circa £45,000 (depending on experience)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week
Flexible start times available (typical start around 8:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact for clients and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
Liaise with Sales and Estimating teams at contract award stage
Produce, control, and issue all project documentation
Manage procurement of materials, consumables, and subcontract services
Monitor and control project costs and schedules
Work with production teams on planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
Coordinate inspection activities and client visits
Compile and issue final documentation and data dossiers
Organise shipping and liaise with freight forwarders
Provide after-sales technical support
Carry out general project administration duties
Requirements:
Proven experience in an engineering project delivery role
Understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication/welding )
Strong organisational and communication skills
Confident liaising with internal departments and external clients
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable with documentation control and cost monitoring
Engineering qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND or degree) desirable
Right to work permanently in the UK
