What you'll do

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned capital maintenance projects across a diverse range of sites, including water recycling, water production, sewerage, and water distribution.

The value of projects varies between £15,000 and £500,000. You will be based in the north area covering Mendip, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, and Bristol.

Projects can include pumping station upgrades, the design and installation of inlet screen replacements, emergency wastewater treatment side streams, and clean water treatment process upgrades, while also covering a large range of sites including Bio-Resource sites.

Your role will involve:

  • Optioneering, tendering, spend forecasting, project delivery, commissioning, authoring payments, and project closeouts
  • Working closely with our contractors and supply chain
  • Ensuring that all health and safety and other statutory regulations that may affect the construction process are adhered to
  • Ensuring company and departmental targets are met
  • Assisting in the establishment of budgets and approvals
What you'll need

Ideally, you will be from a construction and/or water industry background with experience in project management and working closely with external contractors.

It is essential that you have a safety-first approach and good negotiation and influencing skills.

In addition, you will need to:

  • Have a positive and "can-do" attitude
  • Be well-organised, customer-focused, and a great team player
  • Hold a technical level 4 (HNC) qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Be a professionally registered engineer (EngTech/IEng) or working towards this - support can be given on professional registration
  • Have a working knowledge of CDM 2015
  • Have a valid driving licence (a company car will be provided if you are not able to use your own vehicle)

Mechanical or Electrical experience would be beneficial but not essential.
