Job summary

Peoplewithenergy is seeking an ambitious Project Engineer to play a key role on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes, the Hinkley Point C project. You will support delivery, safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives within a complex engineering environment.

Working with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams, you will coordinate activity, define scopes, manage interfaces, and develop essential project documentation to ensure successful programme delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing schedules, project documentation, risks, and interfaces.
• Knowledge of project governance and delivery processes.
• Membership of or commitment to a professional body such as APM, RICS, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management of project activities to deliver against programme objectives.
• Define scopes of work and manage interfaces across contracts and packages.
• Coordinate delivery of projects, tasks and work packages per governance requirements.
• Develop and maintain key project documentation (Project Definition Documents, Project Briefs, Quality Plans).
• Support development and implementation of project execution strategies and delivery plans.
• Monitor progress, track milestones and report performance to stakeholders.
• Manage contract and package interfaces to ensure collaboration and integration.
• Promote stakeholder engagement and effective communication throughout the lifecycle.
• Work with engineering, commercial, planning, quality and delivery teams to achieve objectives.

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of a major programme of works on the Hinkley Point C project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and contribute to the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of critical project activities within a complex engineering environment.

The Role

Working closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering project activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the day-to-day management of project activities to ensure successful delivery against programme objectives.
• Defining scopes of work and managing interfaces across contracts and project packages.
• Coordinating the delivery of assigned projects, tasks, and work packages in accordance with project procedures and governance requirements.
• Developing and maintaining key project documentation including Project Definition Documents, Project Briefs, and Quality Plans.
• Supporting the development and implementation of project execution strategies and delivery plans.
• Monitoring project progress, tracking milestones, and reporting on performance to key stakeholders.
• Managing contract and package interfaces to ensure effective collaboration and project integration.
• Promoting strong stakeholder engagement and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Working collaboratively with engineering, commercial, planning, quality, and delivery teams to achieve programme objectives.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience working within large-scale infrastructure, engineering, nuclear, energy, or construction projects.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing schedules, project documentation, risks, and interfaces.
• Knowledge of project governance and delivery processes.
• Membership of, or a commitment to working towards, a recognised professional body such as APM, RICS, or equivalent.
