Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in project engineering within water utilities.
• Strong understanding of MEICA equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design and delivery of MEICA projects.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and promote health and safety.

Skills

ICA apprenticeship or Engineering degree

Knowledge of control works permits

Location: Hybrid working with regular travel to Yorkshire Water sites and offices.

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Asset Delivery department is responsible for delivering the Capital Construction Programme by providing sustainable solutions, managing supply chain relationships, and ensuring contract excellence. The department aims to achieve best value for money by reducing cycle times, maintaining or enhancing service, embracing collaboration, working safely, and meeting performance targets.

Specialist Projects is a division within Asset Delivery led by Engineers from various disciplines, managing end-to-end design and construction schemes across water and wastewater sectors.

Where You Fit In

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will:

• Provide technical supervision and line management of Project Technicians
• Manage and coordinate the design and safe delivery of MEICA projects within Specialist Projects
• Ensure project compliance with CDM regulations, acting as Principal Contractor and supporting the Client & Principal Designer
• Adhere to YW Engineering specifications and documentation
• Promote high standards in health and safety, risk management, and work control
• Maintain robust financial management and commercial awareness in decision-making

Skills & Qualifications Needed

• ICA apprenticeship or Engineering degree or equivalent (ONC/HNC/BTEC in ICA Engineering)
• Knowledge of control works permits, POWRA, RAMS, etc.
• Understanding of MEICA equipment and processes
• Experience with electrical and ICA equipment to develop engineered solutions
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and practical application
• Understanding of design and project delivery processes, hazard identification, and site supervision
• Ability to handle technical and non-technical queries
• Experience with ATEX standards
• Familiarity with project development procedures like URS, SRS, P&IDs, FDS, FAT, SAT, O&Ms
• Detailed knowledge of SI & ICA standards and best practices
• Experience optimizing SI control systems in complex ICA environments
