Salary - £36,000 - £43,000 per annum
Permanent, Full time (39 hours per week, 08:30 - 17:00)

A full-time, permanent opportunity has arisen at our Barnsley site for a Project Engineer to join the team. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of multiple capital-based infrastructure, growth, and cost-out projects to specification, time, and cost plan, achieving the highest engineering and professional standards.

The successful candidate will:

• Develop a pipeline of suitable projects, including feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, etc.
• Lead the compilation of capital authority request documentation and narrative
• Lead and engage end users in developing engineering scope
• Manage all health and safety aspects of capital projects (e.g., CDM requirements)
• Report project progress: tracking milestones, activities, priorities, financials
• Ensure compliance at pre-delivery milestones to user acceptance test protocols

What we need from you:

• Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Up to 5 years of Food & FMCG background
• Extensive capital project management experience with a customer focus
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., IEE 17th Edition, DSEAR, etc.)
• Successful delivery of engineering capital projects in FMCG, emphasizing specification, planning, implementation, and validation
• Experience with modern manufacturing practices
• Knowledge of food processing and related equipment
• Collaborative approach with excellent communication skills at all levels
• Ability to deliver results on time and within budget in a pressurized, trade union environment
• Proactive in understanding customer needs and taking actions
• Self-starter, enthusiastic, positive, energetic, and resourceful
