The Role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to take full ownership of complex engineering projects from order through to commissioning and handover. This is a customer-facing role that involves coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across departments to ensure successful, safe, and timely project delivery within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through design, procurement, manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Plan and chair key meetings (e.g., handovers, customer meetings), including follow-up actions and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation and schedules.
  • Oversee technical design processes and support safety and quality reviews.
  • Coordinate Health & Safety compliance (e.g., risk assessments, method statements).
  • Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and clients throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage costs, negotiate variations, and prevent scope creep.
  • Maintain high professional standards in all communications.
  • Support sales teams with surveys, layouts, and Gantt chart planning.

About You

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, or Design preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management processes (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects in a technical environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel regularly, and manage time effectively.

Desirable

  • Experience with capital equipment projects.
