BMW Group Plant Hams Hall is a modern, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility, located just outside Birmingham, UK. Producing the latest generation of three- and four-cylinder petrol engines, and precision machining key engine components, the plant has recently celebrated 20 years of successful production. Operating seven days a week, with more than one engine rolling off the line per minute, the plant plays a key role in BMW Group's global production network, supplying engines for BMW and MINI, including some of the latest plug-in hybrid vehicles.

BMW Hams Hall, Birmingham - Project & Energy Management Intern - 13 Month Placement (July 2026)

Our Facility Management and Energy team are looking for a driven and motivated student to join our team for a 13 month placement opportunity, commencing July 2026. The department is based at Plant Hams Hall with the main responsibility for the real estate portfolio includes buildings, infrastructure and supply networks within the production location. Whilst also being strongly connected to Rolls Royce Motor Cars, the headquarters in Farnborough and London locations 'Park Lane and Park Royal'.

What awaits you?
  • Support/collaborate across a diverse region with a complex portfolio.
  • Prepare documents to put out tenders for contractors.
  • Supplier Steering and responding appropriately to reactive repairs as they arise.
  • Project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of contractors.
  • Manage and lead facility change requests to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.
  • Plan for future developments including best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organising of current premises.
  • Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies.
  • Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.
