Description

We’re seeking a Project Director with a strong track record in the early-stage development of nationally significant infrastructure projects. This is a career-defining opportunity to shape the successful delivery of a £multi-bn transmission programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-construction development activities across a matrix structure including consenting, landowner negotiations, stakeholder engagement, environmental planning, commercial, engineering and supply chain procurement.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies (e.g., Ofgem, Planning Inspectorate) to ensure programme and compliance targets are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and supply chain partners to define the scope, phasing, and risk strategy for delivery.
  • Drive the programme through the governance process, ensuring readiness for construction.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience leading development phases of large-scale infrastructure programmes (e.g., power, energy, rail, highways, water, aviation)
  • Deep understanding of DCO, EIA, land access, and public consultation processes.
  • Skilled in managing political, environmental, and stakeholder complexity.
  • Comfortable operating in highly regulated, safety-critical environment
