Job description

Our client is one of Scotland's top construction companies and civil engineering contractors, with headquarters in Glasgow and operating across the Central Belt, Northern and Southern Scotland.

They are now looking to recruit experienced civils orientated Project Director to lead and drive a 100 million civils/access roads project in the North of Scotland.

To be considered-

You will ideally come from a civil engineering degree background and are preferably chartered.

Proven ability of delivering major roads and structures/bridges

Distinct advantage if you have previous pre-construction experience of leading bids or significant input.

Experience of procurement and appointment of suitable subcontractor

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director
Overseeing projects from start to finish
Project planning, budgeting and identification of resources required
Building teams, developing goals and objectives and assigning responsibilities
Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular progress meetings with the stakeholders
Ensure projects documents are in order
Co-ordinate all parties involved in the project
To maintain a high standard of health and safety on site and within the companies health and safety policy
To control all site activities and deal with any site problems or queries
To manage project within budget and on time
To maintain a high standard of finish on the project
Appointment of sub-contractor


The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience in a similar role in a main civils contractor environment
Ability to demonstrate a track record of experience in dealing with clients at a senior level
Significant post qualification experience of project management of civils/highways/structures works of 30 million plus
Demonstrate experience in working to agreed targets within a commercial environment
