About the Role

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Project Director with strong leadership skills. You will be responsible for leading bids from submission through to execution and final account, with a focus on Civil & Infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.

Company Overview

Our client is a UK Civil Engineering & Infrastructure main contractor with a global reach. They maintain a family-like environment, valuing their people as their greatest asset. They excel in managing risk, adapting to change, and fostering strong relationships with clients and supply chains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects valued between £40-100 million, including Highways, Rail, Aviation, and Energy sectors.
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Identify and mitigate risks through skilled management and team awareness.
  • Lead lean teams on fast-paced programs, adding value and maintaining project momentum.
  • Travel across the UK and Ireland as needed, often arriving late Sunday to set up for a Monday start.
  • Motivate and oversee site teams and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and engagement.
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years' experience delivering complex civil engineering projects.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering; Chartered status preferred but not essential.
  • Strong contractual awareness and understanding of delivering projects to scope, time, and budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, both soft and hard skills, to influence and lead teams.
  • Ability to think critically and multitask effectively.
