Project Development Specialist – Renewable Energy

Are you passionate about tackling climate change and accelerating the UK’s transition to clean energy? We’re looking for a Project Development Specialist to lead land development, planning, and permitting workstreams for cutting-edge green hydrogen infrastructure projects.

This role offers the chance to work on some of the UK’s most innovative decarbonisation initiatives—supporting the shift to net zero across heat, power, transport, and industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Oversee land development, acquisition, surveys, and relationship-building
• Lead planning consent and environmental/safety permitting processes
• Manage stakeholder communication with regulators, consultants, and local communities
• Identify and mitigate risks with project managers and technical teams
• Support investment committees and contribute to project documentation and reporting

What We’re Looking For:

3+ years’ experience in renewable project development (solar, wind, or hydrogen)

Strong knowledge of UK land, planning, and permitting processes

Background in planning, environmental, or surveying (Chartered status preferred)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS mapping tools

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
