Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Project Designer to join our collaborative culture. You will design, engineer and document installed security and life-safety solutions, working with engineers, vendors and AHJ to meet project requirements.

You’ll create engineered drawings, participate in design reviews, manage documentation, and support project teams through procurement, site surveys and turnover. A 3–5 year engineering background and strong CAD skills are preferred, with a customer-focused

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Customer focus with initiative and accountability.
• 3–5 years engineering, field service or project management experience.
• Experience in security or life-safety industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design or drawing assistance for projects during development and as-built stages.
• Create engineered drawings (AutoCAD, etc.) and submittals per standards.
• Review scope and electrical requirements for code compliance and AHJ needs.
• Participate in design reviews and project turnover meetings.
• Prepare submittal packages and procurement of project materials.
• Assist with site surveys, change orders pricing, and training junior designers.
• Provide operational support during sales phase as needed.
