We are recruiting for a Project Design Manager to join our South West Water Team, based in Exeter. The Project Design Manager will collaborate closely with the design team and operational teams, focusing on ensuring the quality and timeliness of design output.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly awarded Framework, with 10 years of work through AMP 8 and AMP 9. The Project Design Manager will be part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for overseeing design deliverables for process-related projects in water, wastewater, and biosolids sectors within Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage design resources to ensure efficient production of deliverables according to the DORM (Design, Organisation and Responsibilities Matrix) and project schedule.
• Manage interfaces with third-party designs from consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee all design output in collaboration with design consultants.
• Ensure formal design reviews are conducted throughout the project cycle as per Trant procedures.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly reports on design progress against DORM and project timelines.
• Monitor and report on design expenditure, implementing strategies to mitigate overspend.
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with clients and their representatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

• MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering or Marine Engineering.
• Experience in design and construction organizations.
• Background in water/wastewater sectors.
• Experience working with environmental and planning teams is advantageous.
