Job summary

Prince Personnel Limited in Telford is seeking a Project Design Engineer to join a specialist healthcare engineering team. The role focuses on delivering detailed 2D/3D designs, from concept through to release, with a strong emphasis on practical, cost‑effective and technically robust solutions.

You will collaborate across internal teams and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and projects are delivered successfully.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Design Engineer, Project Engineer, CAD Engineer or similar engineering design role.
• Proficient in producing detailed designs using SolidWorks.
• Experience with fabricated steelwork, sheet metal or modular assemblies.
• Ability to create complex assemblies and production‑ready engineering documentation.
• Project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with innovative and practical design solutions.
• Capability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with wider project teams.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks and CAD software
• Developing engineered solutions for bespoke security and caging projects
• Creating technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials and production documentation
• Managing the design aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
• Collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements
• Reviewing and improving existing products and systems
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant quality, safety and industry standards
• Supporting projects through design, manufacture and installation phases
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, functionality and project delivery

Project Design Engineer

Location: Telford

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to circa £40,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hrs
