Overview

An excellent opportunity for a Project Design Engineer to join a well-established company based at their new Sheffield premises. Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum. Location: Sheffield. The company is a leading UK provider of paint and powder coating systems, established in 2002, with a reputation for manufacturing high-quality equipment. They are based close to Meadowhall in Sheffield with easy access from the M1.

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Design Engineer to join a small but fast-paced team. The role will predominantly involve design of ovens, pre-treatment and handling systems.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely within Engineering to help develop bespoke design solutions for paint finishing systems.
  • Be comfortable with taking the general arrangement drawing (either produced by themselves or others) and completing a full set of manufacturing drawings for fabrication.
  • Design fabricated sheet metal parts and assemblies.
  • Manage a project from handover, site delivery and completion of the project.
  • Procurement of components and materials in support of the project.
  • Attend project meetings and complete site surveys when required.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors as required.
  • Support customers with technical queries.
  • Compile and maintain technical documentation.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven engineering knowledge and project management experience (preferred).
  • A detailed knowledge of 2D or 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Solid Edge/Inventor).
  • Ability to produce comprehensive, clear and accurate manufacturing drawings and General Arrangements.
  • At least three years' experience in a CAD environment.
  • Sheet metal design.
  • High level of problem-solving skills together with the strength of character to act on the technical decisions they make.
  • Good IT skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisation & communication skills.
  • Keen to learn and work with the team.
  • Driving Licence (required).
