Job description

Division/Department: Argos Central Retail & Change / Argos Transformation

Location: Any SSC & Home – travel required for ad hoc project meetings/workshops & quarterly team meetings.

Reporting to: Transformation Manager

In a nutshell:

As a Project Delivery Support, you will provide comprehensive support in the management and delivery of change projects across Sainsbury’s Argos. A flexible approach is required and should be adapted to meet individual project needs.

You will support the execution of day-to-day change project activities to ensure the new business capability is delivered on time and within budget, and that target benefits meet or exceed expectations. You will work with and support process activities across transformation, including third parties and contractors, ensuring best practices are followed and the impact of changes is prioritized.

What I am accountable for:

  • Work within the framework of best-in-class project management and Agile methodology to ensure project delivery meets success criteria and aligns with programme objectives.
  • Support the scope, design, and implementation of approved change projects within your business area.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and simplify current and new processes.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to business and external requirements to support change project delivery.
  • Develop strong business partnerships with internal departments and external strategic partners.
  • Engage and motivate your team and stakeholders as a self-starter.
  • Complete project reports and governance documents to ensure alignment across the project.
  • Support the delivery and realization of project and KPI benefits.
  • Assist in post-project enhancements and transition into business as usual.
  • Coach stakeholders to embed project outputs within the business for sustainable capability. Share knowledge across the team to support succession planning and reduce single points of failure.
  • Influence at all levels and effectively engage stakeholders in project scope and deliverables.

  • Previous project management experience, including managing projects end-to-end (essential)
  • Change management skills (essential)
  • Good understanding of risk management and its application to projects (essential)
  • Flexibility to meet business requirements (essential)
  • Experience in retail, fulfilment, or logistics functions (desired)
  • Ability to make informed decisions and take responsibility with support from project owners.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure customer needs are prioritized.
  • Understand and improve processes through engagement and communication.
  • Communicate effectively and inspiringly with colleagues.
  • Self-awareness and understanding of your impact on stakeholders.
  • Engage with customers to build trust and confidence.
  • Inspire and support team members to perform at their best.
