Description

Project Delivery Manager – PCO Expansion Submarines

Why Rolls-Royce?

Our submarines business is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, and through-life support of nuclear propulsion-related products and systems for the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. Join us to be part of innovative projects and a collaborative environment where continuous learning and respect are valued.

As a Project Delivery Manager – PCO Expansion, you will oversee the management and coordination of projects related to the design and construction of the PCO facility expansion, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget. You will work with the Head of Delivery and partners to integrate design and construction phases, and play a key role in setting priorities for the Infrastructure Delivery Business Unit, with accountability for budget and timely delivery to support capacity expansion for SSN-AUKUS.

This strategic role offers an opportunity to develop your project management skills on a critical infrastructure project, in a creative and innovative environment with accountability and influence over project success. We offer competitive salary, benefits, and support flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

What you will be doing:

  • Define and implement the delivery strategy for PCO Expansion, ensuring high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the PCO Expansion Building & Infrastructure Project Lead to deliver the project through build, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts to meet project and program requirements.
  • Monitor, control, and report on project performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage changes during design, build, and commissioning phases, utilizing budget and risk management principles.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, focusing on collaboration and strategic partnering, and hold partners accountable for delivery against milestones and KPIs.
  • Implement project management best practices and guide teams in effective project management using appropriate systems and tools.

Who we’re looking for:

We seek individuals who embrace agility, collaboration, and simplicity. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience delivering infrastructure or major projects in challenging environments, with knowledge of all project lifecycle stages.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder influence skills across organizational boundaries.
  • A desire to grow, learn, and share knowledge within a high-performance, team-based culture.
  • Boldness, agility, and creativity to innovate and improve project delivery while ensuring safety and fun.
  • A degree or equivalent industrial experience, preferably with project management qualifications and NEC4 contract knowledge.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a respectful environment where everyone can reach their full potential.

Note: Applicants must hold a UK nationality and be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance, which Rolls-Royce will support. Dual nationals may require additional checks.
