We are preparing for our most ambitious Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, which will involve delivering a larger programme of work than ever before. This includes a focus on nature-based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

We are committed to driving change, setting global benchmarks, and building a better environment, while offering growth and development opportunities for our workforce. We aim to build on our existing teams with a career progression-oriented environment.

With an exciting portfolio of projects planned for AMP8 to ensure the region’s water supply, our ability to manage work and exceed customer expectations will be under increased scrutiny.

We seek motivated and aspiring talent to help us achieve our ambitious goals. Are you ready to join us in delivering the most innovative AMP yet?

What will you do as our new Project Delivery Manager?

You will manage a team and oversee the development of solutions to ensure multiple projects are completed on time, within quality, water, and safety standards, and in compliance with legislation, Alliance governance, and processes. You will be responsible for projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring operational needs and conflicts are handled appropriately to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring CDM compliance through audits, checks, and peer reviews to promote a ‘Zero-Harm’ culture.
  • Fostering a high-performing team environment empowering engineers and commercial staff to think creatively and resolve issues.
  • Translating programme strategies into tangible outcomes, ensuring team members understand their roles in success.
  • Managing the full project lifecycle from need assessment to handover and warranty issues.
  • Collaborating with Commercial and Planning teams to maintain accurate cost and resource forecasts, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Overseeing solutions to ensure safety, commercial viability, and project requirements are met.
  • Ensuring project deliverables and milestones are achieved.
  • Promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment across the alliance and external organisations.

About your skills, experience, and behaviours:

You should have recent water industry experience, with strong knowledge of Health & Safety, drinking water standards, and CDM regulations, complemented by an IOSH qualification. Experience with multiple projects and ideally an APMP qualification is preferred. You should be comfortable challenging stakeholders professionally, with excellent communication and relationship skills.

Your commercial experience and knowledge of NEC Option C contracts will enable you to make swift decisions. You should have a proven track record of managing teams in a performance-driven environment, with the ability to work strategically, delegate effectively, and support your team’s development.
