Job description

This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with engineering project management experience to join a highly collaborative and supportive team in our Capital Maintenance Projects and deliver modern and innovative solutions to our operational sites.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of a large portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste, and water network functions, both above and below ground.

What you will be doing as an Engineering Delivery Manager

We are seeking a commercially astute and motivated person to provide MEICA and Civil Engineering construction solutions to the process and network functions across Thames Water, on both Clean and Wastewater Assets. You will ensure that health and safety requirements, quality standards, contractual specifications, commercial objectives, and program deadlines are met promptly.

The main areas of focus will include:

  • Being an integral part of the growing Capital Maintenance Projects team.
  • Managing the procurement process, framework suppliers, and subcontractor supply chain involved in the delivery of site-based construction activities.
  • Being directly responsible for resource management and the training, development, and support of directly managed Project Engineers.
  • Providing estimates, programming, and planning support to the wider team.
  • Ensuring the delivery of all construction projects in the program with 100% compliance with client specifications.
  • Managing the client’s site requirements, ensuring minimal impact on the operational functionality of the site.
  • Delivering all projects within legislative, CDM, and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and HR.

The base location for this role will be Mogden STW, West London, with travel across the area. The role requires being office-based 5 days per week.

Please note: you will receive a car allowance, and a valid driving licence is required.

Hours of work are 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role

  • Experience within a commercial and technical role, preferably with a degree/HND in engineering and/or business administration, with post-qualification experience.
  • A proven track record of project management in an engineering environment with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and ICA systems.
  • Experience managing procurement processes, framework suppliers, and subcontractor supply chains involved in site-based construction.
  • Responsibility for resource management and the training, development, and support of staff.
  • Ability to ensure all projects are delivered on time and to client specifications, complying with legislative and safety standards.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary up to £66,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with service, plus bank holidays.
  • Car Allowance of £4,500 per annum.
  • Contributory pension scheme, up to 12%, with 2x employee contribution.
  • Annual Personal Medical Assessments.
  • Access to benefits scheme and wellbeing offers.
