Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

As our Project Delivery Manager you'll be instrumental in implementing successful delivery through Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Water and be responsible for delivering project plan targets in line with business requirements.

You'll have the opportunity to drive a delivery and construction team to ensure successful solutions of small to medium projects are developed and constructed safely and successfully.

You'll strive for clarity around programme completion and support your local team in consistent delivery across the region with your peers.

Your focus will be on the development and support of your people to ensure they are best for task and have the necessary resources and skills to successfully complete projects.

Guarantee Construction, Design and Management (CDM) compliance throughout delivery and construction, including regular auditing of sites.

You'll empower teams to take time, complete work safely and call out poor Health, Safety and Wellbeing instances by playing an active role in your area, on site supporting best practice and leading by example.

Develop a method for construction and delivery teams to share Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues on operational sites with the Operational teams to enable tracking and improvement reports to be returned.

Develop an active management plan with the Management team to generate a culture of visible leadership around project plans, health and safety across the delivery and construction arena.

You'll be leading the team to focus on efficiency and innovation in design to support safe, efficient project delivery.

You'll need to manage programme budget in conjunction with the Commercial Team, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses.

What You’ll Bring
  • APMP or PRINCE 2 project management
  • Very strong technical competence in water supply and knowledge of the water regulatory environment
  • Education to degree or equivalent level in relevant scientific or engineering subject would be advantageous.
  • Preferably a business or management qualification (e.g. ILM certificate).
  • Appropriate professional qualification (e.g. CIWEM) would be valuable.
  • Strong management experience underpinned by excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Health and Safety management qualified to a minimum of IOSH level.
  • Proven financial management knowledge.
  • Good level of commercial and contractual acumen in line with NEC 3.
  • Demonstrable experience of integrating regional programmes of work within an operational environment.
