Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United Kingdom is seeking a Project Cost Accountant to support cost management and project controls across multiple projects. You will focus on invoice processing, cost administration, and financial reporting, working closely with project teams, commercial, and supply chain.

The role requires strong numeracy, attention to detail, and proficient Excel skills, with a willingness to learn CBS/WBS concepts, NEC/FIDIC principles, and cost reporting cycles.

Qualifications

• Interest in Cost Engineering, Project Controls, or Project Finance.
• Experience or exposure to invoice processing, financial administration, cost control, or project support.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts.
• Process, validate, and reconcile supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) aligned to project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
• Set up and manage Purchase Orders (POs), Work Orders (WOs), and requisitions to ensure cost capture and reporting.
• Monitor invoice status, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
• Assist in accruals and reflect costs in project reporting cycles.
• Maintain cost records and assist month-end reporting.
• Support change control with cost and invoice information.
• Validate supplier and subcontractor cost data.
• Prepare cost reports and expenditure analyses for project teams.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and FIDIC where applicable.
• Collaborate with project controls, planning, commercial, finance, and procurement.
• Identify cost, invoice, or payment issues impacting project performance.
• Develop knowledge of cost engineering principles and industry best practices.
