About The Role

This position is responsible for implementing effective accounting procedures and management of all project costs associated with each project. The role acts as the primary point of contact for supplier finance teams and should ensure accurate and timely tracking, reconciliation and reporting of capital and operating expenditure across our supply chain. Support our Financial Controller and Senior Project accountant in developing a highly effective function which drives positive results and excellent working relationships across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Responsible for planning, execution and documentation of various accounting department projects on a planned and ad-hoc basis.
  2. Working closely with Key Suppliers and Vendors to assess and analyse the cost status of the works; assessing Contractor dashboards and making recommendations where appropriate.
  3. Working with the Programme Manager and other team members to analyse and report on the cost status of the project highlighting performance trends and make recommendations of key actions where applicable.
  4. Prepare documentation on periodic, contract determined basis, of metrics for customers, vendors and for the support of other departments' informational requirements.
  5. Preparation of project cost study and analysis of various project metrics for internal evaluation and reporting.
  6. Thorough, auditable maintenance and organisation of records through memorialisation and classification of specific objectives, process and results as determined on a project by project basis.
  7. Prepare monthly journal entries in preparation and in the execution of month-end closings; Responsible for completion data intensive calculations of month-end processes.
  8. Assistance with reconciliation and maintenance of fixed assets, work in process and segmentation of data and support for project phases.
  9. Support an environment of continuous improvement by making recommendations and implementing solutions which are digitally led.
What You'll Bring
  1. Proven experience of Cost Accounting practises, standards, systems and processes.
  2. Knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  3. Experience dealing with Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting on multiple projects.
  4. Experience within public accounting firm with commercial experience within the Construction (or similar) industry.
  5. Analytical & quantitative Skills, attention to detail/accuracy, problem solving skills.
  6. PC Software applications including Excel and Word.
  7. Accounting Software Systems and Applications. Workday experience preferred.
