You'll play a vital role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring technical projects are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities of the Project Coordinator – Technical Product Development
- Coordinate the delivery of engineering and product development projects.
- Work closely with design, R&D, and manufacturing teams to maintain detailed project plans - outlining key milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and resource requirements.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring effective communication between internal stakeholders and external partners or suppliers.
- Support agile and iterative development processes, including sprint planning, progress tracking, and post-project retrospectives.
- Anticipate and resolve project risks or bottlenecks, proactively adapting plans and timelines to maintain momentum.
- Promote best practices in technical project delivery, such as risk management, milestone tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
- Provide clear project updates and escalate issues to senior stakeholders when needed.
Candidate Requirements for the Project Coordinator – Technical Product Development role:
- Proven experience coordinating complex product development projects —ideally within scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or for complex mechanical products.
- Comfortable working across R&D, design, manufacturing, and quality functions.
- Familiarity with working in start-ups or high-growth organisations is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate project updates for varied audiences.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM subject would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is desirable.
