Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our National Nature Services Team. You will work with interrelated disciplines and support bids, risk assessments, and client communications on landmark projects.

The role requires strong organisation, coordination, and contract awareness, with embedding in a collaborative, inclusive environment. You will help manage project programmes, budgets, and resource planning, while developing in an office-based project management

Qualifications

  • Academic qualification in a related discipline.
  • Experience in office-based project management or coordination.
  • Strong organisational and programming skills.
  • Understanding of contract administration and commercial awareness.

A Little More About Your Role…

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Team. We are a dynamic and friendly team, with additional offices in Ireland and UK, working closely with a range of interrelated disciplines including Biodiversity Net Gain and Natural Capital specialists, arboriculturists, landscape architects, hydrologists, our historic environment experts and geotechnical specialists.

As An Organised And Proactive Project Coordinator You Will Be Embedded Within Our National Nature Services Team And Will Be Involved In The Following Activities

  • Overall resource planning – fortnightly comms with ecology PMs on key deadlines and survey resourcing and maintaining project programmes and managing project budgets, managing land access processes.
  • Contributing to bids and tenders for new work alongside the other Team Members.
  • Annual checks and renewal of subconsultants; preparation of subconsultant contracts and raising Purchase Orders.
  • With the assistance of the Team, identify skills and resource gaps and consider outsourcing to other parts of the business and externally and training/upskilling requirements, or recruitment opportunities.
  • Assistance with and helping facilitate Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Helping to nurture an enthusiastic, supportive, productive and fun working environment.
  • Supporting on project communications with internal/external clients
  • Managing projects via Horizon including but not limited to project reviews monthly, associated project budget checks, amendments and uplifts, invoicing, scope creep and compensation events
  • Bidding feedback and client liaison
  • Establishing and maintaining client relationships;
  • Where appropriate, participating in external and internal stakeholder engagement for project delivery and business development;
  • Where appropriate, reviewing client deliverables and quality management across all aspects of project delivery;
  • Providing solutions to client business challenges and improving performance through the analysis of existing organisational problems and development of plans for improvement;
  • Facilitating implementation of business recommendations in strategic planning, operational efficiency and change management
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate?
  • Has an appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline.
  • May be an ecologist (or work within another technical environmental discipline) who wishes to develop in an office-based project management and coordination direction.
  • Is highly organised and be able to produce project programmes.
  • Has good commercial awareness and an understanding of contract administration.
  • Is solution-focussed and proactive communicator.
