About the Role

As a Journal Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of your portfolio of academic journals. Your responsibilities include managing the end-to-end publication process, optimizing workflows, and becoming an expert in the systems used, without needing a scientific background.

You will build relationships with global stakeholders through emails and virtual calls, including society partners, editors, authors, reviewers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Become the operational expert for your journals to provide exceptional service to stakeholders.
  • Support and collaborate with key contacts like societies, editors, publishers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships through trust and reliability.
  • Monitor editorial and production processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Use data reporting to identify trends and improve processes for efficiency.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to learn new systems and explain technical issues clearly.
  • Comfortable working independently and driving results remotely.
  • Availability to work in Exeter office one day per week.
