Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a highly organised Project Coordinator for a 16‑month Fixed Term Contract based in Scotland, with a requirement to spend 50% of the week in the Aberdeen office. You will support project teams, coordinating finances, meetings, governance milestones and reporting to ensure on‑time delivery across the portfolio.

The role involves managing project accounts, preparing accurate meeting minutes, coordinating reports with Finance, and performing ad hoc admin duties.

  • Strong written and verbal communication with keen eye for detail and ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and collaborative working style.
  • Experience of managing or supporting project finances.
  • Sound understanding of multiple software packages, including PowerBI and Office 365.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project accounts, including raising purchase orders, ensuring suppliers are paid on time and responding to external supplier queries.
  • Coordinate and prepare project-related meetings, ensuring they are appropriately scheduled, attended and minutes produced.
  • Coordinate multiple reports and data inputs, ensuring deadlines are met with Finance for external reporting.
  • Assist with any additional, role-specific administrative duties as required.

Base Location:

For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Aberdeen.

Salary:

£36,139 - £43,188 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team on a 16 month Fixed Term Contract. In this role, you will provide essential support to project teams, helping to ensure the efficient coordination of project finances, meetings, governance milestones and reporting. You’ll work closely with project teams, finance and wider stakeholder teams to support the smooth delivery of projects across the portfolio.

You will
  • Manage project accounts, including raising purchase orders, ensuring suppliers are paid on time and responding to external supplier queries.
  • Coordinate and prepare project‑related meetings, ensuring they are appropriately scheduled, attended and that accurate, high‑quality minutes are produced.
  • Coordinate multiple reports and data inputs, ensuring deadlines are met and working closely with Finance to support external reporting requirements.
  • Assist with any additional, role‑specific administrative duties as required.
You have
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills; this is a busy role that offers exposure to the wider business and the opportunity to work with a broad range of stakeholders and project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workloads while meeting demanding deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proven ability to problem‑solve, prioritise effectively and work in a collaborative and efficient manner, supported by strong communication skills.
  • Experience of managing or supporting project finances is beneficial.
  • A sound understanding and practical experience of working with multiple software packages and systems, including O365 (such as PowerBI) and internal systems.

The successful candidate would be expected to travel between different SSE offices/project sites, with the occasional overnight stay. Therefore, a driving licence is required.
