Job summary

JCB is seeking a Project Coordinator - Electrical & Compliance to provide administrative, purchasing, BOM management and engineering data support to the Electrical & Compliance team. You will maintain accurate engineering and cost data, support procurement activities and admin project documentation, enabling engineers to focus on technical delivery.

As part of the role you’ll own electrical machine cost BOMs, coordinate updates across Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing, and manage SAP

Qualifications

  • Experience in project coordination, engineering administration or similar business support.
  • Experience raising purchase orders and managing technical documentation.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Support Principal Engineers and Project Managers through maintenance of project documentation, action trackers and status reports.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and action logs.
  • Collate project information and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project dashboards, KPI trackers, risk logs and issue registers.
  • Highlight and escape risks, issues, delays and blockers identified through project reviews and team meetings.
  • Produce reports to support project governance and management reviews.
  • Ensure project records and documentation are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Own and maintain electrical machine cost BOMs.
  • Coordinate BOM updates between Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain BOM and cost information within SAP.
  • Track machine costs against agreed targets and support cost reporting activities.
  • Produce BOM, cost and expenditure reports.
  • Assess and communicate the cost impact of engineering and specification changes.
  • Raise purchase requisitions and purchase orders within SAP.
  • Coordinate procurement of electrical components, prototype parts, test equipment and compliance materials.
  • Obtain supplier quotations, lead times and delivery information.
  • Track supplier deliveries and elevate supply issues where required.
  • Maintain purchasing records and expenditure trackers.
  • Support prototype build activities through effective parts availability management.
  • Assist in coordinating machine compliance, validation and certification activities.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and engineering records.
  • Coordinate test schedules, certification activities and supporting documentation.
  • Support engineering release and change management activities using Teamcenter.
  • Maintain engineering data and records within Teamcenter as required.
  • Maintain organised project, engineering and compliance records.
  • Support budget monitoring and expenditure tracking.
  • Generate reports to support team and management reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department.Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, reporting and administrative processes.

The Opportunity – Project Coordinator - Electrical & Compliance

About the role:

The Project Coordinator provides administrative, purchasing, BOM management and engineering data support to the Electrical & Compliance team. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate engineering and cost data, supporting procurement activities, administering project documentation and assisting compliance activities.

The position supports Principal Engineers and Project Managers through reporting, escalation, purchasing and data management activities, enabling engineering teams to focus on technical delivery. The role is not responsible for project delivery, technical decisions, resource planning or maintaining project schedules.

A key responsibility of the role is the ownership and maintenance of electrical machine cost Bills of Materials (BOMs), supporting cost management, prototype build requirements and engineering change implementation.

What does this roleinvolve day to day?
Project Support & Reporting
  • Support Principal Engineers and Project Managers through the maintenance of project documentation, action trackers and status reports.

Desirable
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, automotive or industrial environment.

  • Experience using Teamcenter or a similar PLM/PDM system.
  • Knowledge of engineering change control processes.
  • Understanding of product compliance, validation or certification processes.
