Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting a Project Controls Manager to support a major nuclear project. This role offers hybrid working with a base office in Warrington or Preston, and can be engaged on a 12 Month Contract inside IR35 or as a permanent staff appointment.

You will lead on enterprise project controls, drive automated reporting, govern project data, and provide technical direction to junior staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
• Professional accreditation (APM) is desirable.
• Strong experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project planning.

Responsibilities

• Driving the continuous improvement of project controls systems across programmes.
• Leading on the production and use of automated reports and dashboards for data-driven decision-making.
• Managing systems and ensuring accuracy, governance, and integrity of project data.
• Acting as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting issues and advising on best practice.
• Collaborating with project managers, project controllers and global teams to deliver integrated solutions.

This role draws upon specialised depth and breadth of expertise to undertake complex assignments, and provides technical leadership and direction to junior roles.

The client is offering hybrid working with a base office in Warrington or Preston and either a 12 Month Contract + Extensions Inside IR35 or a Permanent staff role with a brilliant package with enhanced benefits.

Experience:

Responsibilities of the Project Controls Manager

• Driving the continuous improvement of the enterprise project controls systems across programmes
• Leading on the production and use of automated reports and dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making
• Managing systems and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of project data
• Acting as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting issues and advising on best practice
• Collaborating with project managers, project controllers and the Babcock global project controls teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Essential experience of the Project Controls Manager:

• Demonstrating strong experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project planning
• Using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, Risk Hive, or Deltek Cobra
• Managing and maintaining complex data systems within a project environment
• Influencing stakeholders and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Delivering outcomes in a fast-paced, programme-driven environment.
