Join the team on a staff basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing complete project control support and management to both Projects and Proposals, either as part of a large project team or covering all planning and scheduling, cost, and document control aspects on smaller projects.
Your responsibilities:
- Reports to the Project Controls & Business Director.
- Manages planning, cost, and document control functions.
- Leads activities related to project planning, controls, cost management, reporting, contract administration, and risk management across a programme of work.
- Responsibilities include: reporting, forecasting, and cost control; planning; document control; administration services; translation services; variations; invoicing; project risk management; information management and systems.
- Ensures timely issuance of project control deliverables and progress reports across all engineering projects.
- Provides leadership to planning engineers, cost engineers, and document control staff to plan, monitor, and control project execution within time and budget constraints, optimizing resources.
- Performs duties independently within scheduled timelines and budgets.
- Supports the Project Controls & Business Director in developing processes, procedures, and practices for efficient management of the engineering portfolio.
- Assists the Engineering Management Team in identifying issues that could affect progress, budgets, or quality, and interfaces with the client.
- Analyzes project requirements during setup and determines appropriate controls for effective delivery.
- Oversees planning and scheduling to align with delivery requirements using suitable processes and procedures.
- Develops systems and procedures for project control functions, especially when additional client requirements arise.
- Maintains controls to ensure timely initiation, preparation of variations and claims, and supports documentation for potential claims, including defenses for issues during project execution.
- Develops and maintains standard work breakdown structures and control budgets across projects.
- Ensures standardized client and management reports on costs, progress, and schedules are maintained across all projects.
- Implements change control systems, evaluates change notices, and assesses impacts on cost and schedule.
- Provides timely project reports with sufficient detail to identify adverse performance trends early.
- Supports contract negotiations and supervises contract pricing summaries for proposals.
- Coordinates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with ISO procedures, project quality plans, and design integrity processes, including internal and client audits.
- Uses initiative and experience to identify and address opportunities and threats as they emerge.
- Performs other duties as instructed by the supervisor.
