Job summary

METLEN ENERGY & METALS Plc in the UK is seeking a Project Controls Manager to join the Grid & Digital Solutions division in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will define project controls strategy and oversee planning, cost estimating and forecasting.

The role requires a engineering or project management degree, English fluency, and strong MS Office and Primavera skills; PM certification or Master’s degree are assets. You will report to leadership and drive performance across global projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Project Management.
• Professional certification in project management will be considered an asset.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent use of Primavera (MS knowledge will be considered an asset).
• Knowledge of basic financial schemes.
• Contract-claims management qualification will be considered an asset.
• Excellent use of English language.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Project Planners, Cost Controllers, and Project Teams to define a Project Controls strategy.
• Supervision/review of all project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and cost analysis activities, including impact identification and recovery plan development.
• Directs/manages the preparation and presentation of integrated project cost & time status and forecasts.
• Responsible for the development, execution, and management of all facets of a Project Controls plan.
• Oversees and manages input and output for quantitative measurement and progress tracking; prepares reports to Leadership with corrective actions.

We are currently searching for a Project Controls Manager to join your Grid & Digital Solutions department, as part of the Thermal Power & HVDC division of Metlen, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Your role will encompass:

• Works closely with Project Planners, Cost Controllers, and Project Teams to define a Project Controls strategy.


• Supervision/review of all project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and cost analysis activities, including impact identification and recovery plan development.


• Directs/manages the preparation and presentation of integrated project cost & time status and forecasts.


• Responsible for the development, execution, and management of all facets of a Project Controls plan.


• Overseas and manages input and output for quantitative measurement and progress tracking Prepares collective reports to Leadership, updating on project status and highlighting issues with suggested corrective actions.

What you bring to the role:
